Harwich Rejuvenation The Mayflower Project is Harwich's attempt to help rejuvenate our  historic local area by using the incredibly rich maritime heritage of  the region. We are starting this by initially building an authentic  replica of the Mayflower. We also wish to continue our project with other ships and thus  safeguard traditional maritime crafts.  Our desire is to transfer shipwrighting, metalworking and other skills in a hands-on way  to local young people. We are especially targeting youngsters that may have fallen  through the educational safety nets. We wish to show them that there are opportunities to learn valuable trades from experienced craftsmen that will give them a chance to  earn a good living.   The Harwich Mayflower Project
