Mayflower are now delivering a new provision for Harwich & Dovercourt High School in which year 9 learners are attending creative craft and digital media sessions.

We have made steady progress on the Abellio murals which are still on-course to be completed and mounted in April 2016. The artworks are being completd by both unemployed residents and local school students in Harwich

We have one further group of ‘Get Involved’ provision to deliver and are in discussions with the local JCP to agree a date this course will commence.

Our new marine diesel engine (one day) course will be open for applicants in the coming weeks. These will be delivered by Alan Warren, an experienced RYA registered tutor, with many years of experience in marine diesel engine maintenance

We are in discussions with a local care home to create a series of murals that will be mounted in their grounds. The art works will take inspiration and input from the home’s residents and will be created by local school students. These will be under the direction of Mayflower teaching staff.

The paint and decorating course Mayflower are delivering in Jaywick has been a great success. Learners are developing their practical skills renovating St Christopher’s Church in Jaywick. The church warden and trustees have praised the efforts of the unemployed learners and are thrilled with the improvement to the interior of their building. The tutor, Mick Monks , is predicting that all 8 of the learners will achieve their full qualification. This provision is delivered in partnership with Signpost and GO4 and is funded by DWP.
