Our project is a charity currently registered in the UK (No 1133420) and awaiting formal charity registration in the United States under Section 501(c) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
The aims of the charity are to provide education, practical training, employment and a visitor facility to enable an improved understanding and appreciation of maritime heritage through the construction of a wooden replica of The Mayflower sailing ship. We wish to celebrate the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom by showcasing one of our most powerful links.
We also plan to sail the Mayflower across the Atlantic to recreate the original voyage. The Mayflower is an iconic symbol that links Harwich in the UK, Leiden in the Netherlands, Plymouth in Massachusetts and Plymouth in Devon. The Project seeks to build a replica of the Mayflower within the port where the original ship was registered as a merchant vessel plying its trade across the North Sea and the English Channel. We hope that the pages on this website will provide an insight into what we are all about and we invite you to explore and enjoy our efforts and experience.
