Firework Fundraiser a Success!

The Project held its annual Firework Fundraiser event in Wrabness last weekend (Saturday the 3rd). John Acton's farm was host to a many supporters of the Project, who enjoyed an evening of live music, drinks, a hog roast, a huge bonfire and a spectacular firework display.

Yard Open Day and Auction a Success!

This past weekend (the 21st and 22nd) we have been very busy at the Harwich Mayflower Project. On the Saturday we held out first ever Auction at the Trinity House Mermaid building, and then on the Saturday we opened the yard to the public for our second annual Sea Festival Open Day.

Sea Festival Open Day This Sunday 22/07/2012

The Harwich Mayflower Project will once again be opening its doors to the public this coming weekend on Sunday the 22nd of July for the annual Harwich Sea Festival celebrations. The newly renovated rail shed will be on show for all, as well as a host of other events from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Prince's Trust TEAM Project 12th March 2012

Last week we have been host to The Prince’s Trust TEAM Project from Clacton-on-sea. The TEAM initiative was set up by the Prince’s Trust to help young people from the ages of 16 to 25 build confidence and find employment or training on work based projects across the UK. We’ve had 12 of them join us on site since the start of the week, and this is what they’ve been up to.

Keel Tree Arrival Ceremony 27th January 2012

We had a very busy day at the Project at the end of January. The two oak trees that are going to make up the keel of the ship arrived at the yard, and were unloaded with the help of Trinity house.

Harwich Sea Festival Open Day 24th July 2011

Today, we held an open day for the public to come down and see what the Project is all about. On show we had a wood turner, merchandise stall, block and tackle exercise, knot and rope demonstration, caulking exercise, apprentice information, and ship plans. We also had a small ceremony of the first oak cut for the Mayflower vessel herself.
